Later, head back to your hotel to relax with a drink and savor the calm atmosphere of Donegal—your next stop in Downings promises even more excitement.
Donegal Golf Club
Situated in the Northwest of Ireland, this outstanding links course is one of the longest in Ireland and Europe. It has been described as the “Muirfield of Ireland”, similar in terrain with two loops of nine holes, the first nine an outer loop and the second nine an inner loop running in the opposite direction. The course offers unsurpassed beauty and tranquillity that is almost impossible to find in the modern world. The spacious clubhouse offers many facilities for visitors, either before or after your round of golf. Enjoy a drink in the bar, a meal in the restaurant or have a browse through the shop which offers a wide range of golf clothing.
Day 3. Donegal - Downings
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading out for your second round of golf at the stunningly revamped Narin & Portnoo Links, known for its panoramic ocean vistas and unforgettable play. Once you’ve finished your round, make your way to the charming coastal village of Downings. There, you’ll check into your welcoming hotel for the rest of your stay. In the evening, unwind with a delicious seafood dinner and a peaceful stroll along the shores of Sheephaven Bay.

The Downings Bay Hotel is a charming hotel nestled within the scenic beauty of Sheephaven Bay.
The hotel features a fine-dining restaurant that showcases local Irish cuisine, complemented by an extensive wine list. Golf has been played on the historic Portsalon links since the 1880s. Now ranked among Ireland’s top 25 courses by Golf Digest, it lies beneath the Knockalla Mountains and runs alongside the stunning Ballymastocker Beach, offering a true and challenging test of traditional links golf.
Day 5. Downings
