Day 1. Welcome to Manchester!
Touch down in England, hop into your rental car, and make your way to your first accommodation in York! Halfway between Edinburgh and London and bordering three national parks, York is the ideal mix of natural beauty and metropolitan attractions.

Day 2. York
In a place known as the UNESCO city of media arts, it's practically mandatory to scope out the scene. Today, you might be interested in stopping by the Viking Centre, National Railway, or York Minster museums. After, you could peruse the specialist shops and cafes sprinkled around the city.

Day 5. Durham - Carlisle
You'll move on to Carlisle today. This city is very close to the Lake District and only 10 miles away from Scotland. The nightlife here is known for being quirky and fun, so rest up early then hit the town for a great night out!

Carlisle links two world heritage sites and is rich with the heritage of the mighty Roman empire that used to cover the entire known world. After you're settled into your hotel, check out the city's nightlife! Carlisle is filled with options for a quirky drinking and dining experience.

Day 8. Lancaster
Let the city enchant you as you spend your only full day in Lancaster exploring its manifold offerings. Start your day with a visit to Lancaster Castle which holds 1,000 years of history. For centuries, this castle was a prison. Excluding London, Lancaster Castle saw more people hanged than anywhere else in England, earning the city the title of "the hanging town."
After, you might take a trip to the Ashton Memorial which is known as the Taj Mahal of the north. Lancaster has a tempting artisan food scene, so be sure to take advantage of every chance you get to taste something new!
Day 9. Depart England!
After breakfast, drive to Manchester Airport. Return your rental car, check in for your flight, and fly home!
